Brookline, a neighboring town considered to be a part of the greater Boston area, directly borders six of Boston’s neighborhoods: Brighton, Allston, Fenway-Kenmore, Mission Hill, Jamaica Plain, and West Roxbury. Parts of Brookline maintain the urban character of the neighboring Boston, while other parts of town have a significantly more suburban feel. Brookline also features an area of stately homes and estates, including the residences of New England Patriots’ owner Robert Kraft and quarterback Tom Brady. Coolidge Corner, located at the intersection of Beacon Street and Harvard Street, and Brookline Village along Washington Street are Brookline’s two primary retail districts, but other notable neighborhoods in Brookline include Washington Square and parts of Chestnut Hill, Cleveland Circle and Longwood. There are several colleges and universities located in Brookline, including Pine Manor College, Hellenic College, Newbury College and parts of Boston University, Boston College and Wheelock College.
